Searching for a place in the Definitive Map of Oxfordshire

The Definitive Map of Oxfordshire shows the location of Oxfordshire's Public Rights of Way.
It also indicates whether the public right of way is a footpath, a bridleway, a restricted byway or a byway.

The Definitive Map consists of 142 sheets, each sheet containing a 1:10000 map.
Although paper copies of these sheets are available in local libraries for inspection,
the Countryside Service of Oxfordshire County Council has also made them available online as PDF files.
Use this link to see details about the online version of the Definitive Map.

That web page has a link to a PDF that is a map of Oxfordshire.
Overlayed onto this map is a grid of squares, one square for each of the 142 sheets.
And if you click on a square, your browser will get the PDF file for that sheet.
You may find that to be your easiest way of finding the appropriate sheet.

Here is a link to a much simpler map. It can also be used to access these PDF files. You may find it useful.

Alternatively, you can use the following form if you wish to find the sheet that is appropriate for a particular place.
Just type in the name of the place, e.g. Upper Heyford, into the box and click the search for place button.
You'll then be presented with a new web page allowing you to access the sheet
for each of the places whose name matches what you've typed.
You don't have to type in all of the name and the searching doesn't worry about capital letters.
So, for example, you could use heyf and it would find any place that has heyf as part of its name.
